SYLVIA GIBB
1913 - 2013
Sylvia was born in Compton Surrey England and passed away on May 10, 2013 at Stanford Place, Parksville, BC.
She was predeceased by her husband George Gibb in 1978 and by her brother Douglas Smallridge of Lime Regis, Dorset, England.
Sylvia married George Gibb in November 1940 in England. George was a Major in the Canadian Army serving in the war in England. Sylvia came to Canada as a war bride and she and George lived in West Vancouver and later moved to Parksville on Vancouver Island.
Sylvia was a very talented women — a renowned batik and watercolour painter, an avid gardener whose garden won many awards, a professional model, and an ardent lawn bowler at which she received many trophies.
A get together of friends will be held at the
Qualicum Beach Bowling Club, 665 Jones Street, Qualicum Beach on June 5, from 2-4pm.
