Sylvio Edouard Cousineau

Pops passed away peacefully while sleeping at his home at The Gardens, Qualicum Beach, BC.

Sylvio was born to Donat and Maggie Cousineau in Hawkesbury, ON. In 1946, after serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Sylvio met Gertrude Henri of Aylmer, QC in Ottawa, ON and they were married three months later in Hull, QC. This union of 65 years has resulted in the births of their 10 children: Claude Cousineau (Calgary, AB), Roger Cousineau (Durham, ON), Denis Cousineau (Errington, BC),Mike Cousineau (Lake Cowichan, BC), Diane Bailey (Nanaimo, BC), Madeleine Carter (Northampton, NB), Lucie Barnard (Clifton Royal, NB), Lise Juenemann (Victoria, BC), Christine Cousineau (Parksville, BC), and Richard Kennedy

(Oklahoma, USA). In addition they have 37 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Sylvio will be remembered by many as a believer in the Lord, JESUS CHRIST and for his passionate preaching of the Gospel and the Resurrection of the Righteous. Pops is loved by many and is missed for his sense of humour and the twinkling in his eye and enthusiasm for LIFE. Many there are whom he led to the Lord.

A viewing was held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1720 Bowen Rd, Nanaimo, BC on May 4, 2011, with internment immediately following at Yates Funeral Cemetery, 1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville, BC.
