T. Jane MACDONALD

January 2, 1930 – March 10, 2016

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Jane left us quietly and peacefully, with family by her side on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville, BC.

Jane received her RN degree from the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta in 1952 and in 1959, obtained her Public Health Nursing degree from UBC in Vancouver.   Jane worked as a Registered Nurse and a Public Health Nurse in Edmonton, Thunder Bay, Vancouver, Victoria and Kamloops. After 17 years in Kamloops, she and her husband Don retired to Victoria in 1983, finally settling in Qualicum Beach in 1988.

Throughout her active life Jane spent countless hours boating and fishing with friends and family. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed a good game of tennis, loved her jazz, a good hand of bridge and, of course, her evening cocktail of CC with just a splash of water!

Jane was predeceased by her husband, Don; sister, Phyllis; brother in law, Peter Bazowski; and niece, Mary Jane Morrison.   Lovingly remembered by step-daughters, Elaine MacDonald of Nanaimo, BC, Kathy (Randy) Burgess Prince George of BC; daughter, Natalie (Stuart) Munro of New Zealand; nephews, Dave (Char) Bazowski of Campbell River, Dan (Jean) Bazowski of Courtenay, Bill Morrison of Victoria and their families including many grand-children, great-grandchildren, and great-grand nephews/nieces.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the love, support, and friendship Jane received from the staff at Arrowsmith Lodge. Jane felt that many of the staff became part of her extended family during her time with them.

Service and internment to follow at a later date.
