August 25, 1943 - August 7, 2012

We sadly announce the death of Terrance John Tranfield. He is survived by his wife Robby, daughter Erin (Ivo), son Morgan (Kristen) and grandson Marcus. Pauline and George Tranfield, his parents, his brother Jack and sisters Rose and Cynthia predeceased him. Terry leaves behind his brothers and sisters Albion (Francis), David (Maureen), Marie (Charles), Mavis (Warren), Margaret (Hubert), May (Fred), Alex (Rosemarie), Barbara (Harry) who will all feel the loss of a brother and friend.

Terry came to the Okanagan in 1974 where he and Robby purchased property in Oyama. His fondest dream was to live in the Okanagan as a farmer, raising his family, having a farming operation and tending to the land. Terry taught at Okanagan University College as a carpentry instructor for 26 years. He enjoyed the good friends he worked with and passing his skills on to many students. He and Robby designed and built a grand home that they operated as Country Ridge Ranch House Bed and Breakfast in later years. He was a beloved friend, father, grandfather, husband and community member. All those fortunate enough to have known Terry will sorely miss him.

In lieu of flowers, Terry requested that donations could be made to the Kelowna Hospice House (Freemason Cancer Car Fund) or a Cancer Society of one’s choice.
