Theresa Armande Ray

October 25, 1927 – January 7, 2014


The family of Theresa Ray sadly announces her passing on January 7th, 2014, in her 86th year. Theresa passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, but lived the majority of her life in Dryden, Ontario, before moving to Parksville on Vancouver Island in 1991.

She is predeceased by her brother, Ted Daoust, and daughter, Georgena Fisher, and is survived by her brother, Marcel Daoust (Norma) , sister, Jean Gouin, daughter, Gloria Dafoe, and sons, Bob Ray (Barbara) and Richard Ray, son-in-law, Alex Fisher as well as 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Teresa loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She thrived on being outdoors and especially enjoyed being out on the water boating and fishing. Theresa was an avid crafter sharing her quilting, knitting, needlepoint and crocheting with many. She also had quite a competitive streak and loved floor curling, lawn bowling and playing bridge.

Theresa will be greatly missed for her warm hugs and ready smile.

Heartfelt thanks to all of the staff in the Alderview Wing at Standford Place for their amazing care. You all helped to keep love, laughter and mischief in Theresa’s life.
