Our Dad, Thomas Howard (Pat) Gadd, passed away peacefully on March 19 with family at his side.
Pat came to Vancouver Island in 1964 and made his home there. He was a very talented designer and builder - many people will be familiar with various homes and commercial buildings he designed and built throughout the Parksville/Qualicum and Nanaimo areas.
Pat loved music and took a lot of comfort in many of his old albums in his last few years. He loved the outdoors - fishing, hunting and gardening were his passions.
He is survived by his 3 children, sister and brother and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Ausma Gadd. We're thinking Dad would want to leave people with this line from a song he used to play on his banjo: "When you're all alone, any old night, And you're feeling mighty blue, Pick up your hat, close up your flat, Get out, get under the moon"
