July 29, 1936 - May 13, 2020
Passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020 at Arrowsmith Lodge, Parksville, B.C. Tom was born on July 29, 1936 in Burnaby, B.C. He graduated in 1955 from South Burnaby High School and that same year, on the docks of Bowen Island, met the love of his life, Bev. They were married October 4, 1958. He worked for CPA in aeronautical engineering, then Burnaby Municipality and qualified as a welder mechanic through the Pacific Vocational Institute where he became maintenance mechanic there. His pride for working came when he was hired with the District 69 as a mechanic and bus driver.
Tom, beloved husband of 61 years to Beverly. Loving father of Thomas (Ramona) and Linda (Bob). Cherished grandfather of Candice (Melissa), Clinton (Carly) and Kyle (Kaitlin). Five great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Dear brother of Marje (Janet) and John (Sharon)
A very special thank you to Dr. Fridriksson and Dr. Sulz and all the staff at Arrowsmith Lodge for their kind, compassionate care.
AFTERGLOW
I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when day is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and summer days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun,
of happy memories I leave
behind, when day is done.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory can be made to the Oceanside Stroke Recovery Society, c/o Marie Randall 399 Dorset Road Qualicum Beach, B.C. V9K 1H5
