May 30, 1985-April 21, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy James Balaski suddenly from an aneurysm on April 21, 2017. He is survived by his father Tim, mother Lois (Jason), brother Mike (Chelsea) and many aunts and uncles.
Tim was born in Richmond BC, raised in Parksville and lived in Nanaimo after receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Studies from Vancouver Island University. Tim was a wizard of technology, champion of the underdog (but ultimate cat lover) and questioned the status quo at every turn. He pursued and deeply dissected ideas on a variety of tough subjects and if he didn’t agree, would dismiss them brutally, usually with a sarcastic comment. He will be remembered for his incredibly bright mind, sharp wit, hearty laugh and warm embrace.
The world was a brighter place with his kindness, compassion and awesome sense of humour and he will be deeply missed. In keeping with Tim’s generous nature he has passed on the gift of sight.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at a later date to celebrate Tim.
