It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ursula after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ursula was born in Berlin, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1953. Predeceased by husband Heinz; survived by her sister Anneliese, son Volkmar (Linda), daughter Vera (Jim), son Frank (Joan), son Bernd (Marsha) and daughter Ingrid (Marty); 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Ursula loved to sing and dance; she had a green thumb and her passion was flowers. She loved to watch Julia Child on television and prepared wonderful meals for her family. She worked in hospital administration, a psychiatrist’s office and a number of years teaching in business college.
Our deepest gratitude for their care of our mother goes out to Dr. Most and Dr. Papo, her home support care givers, and the wonderful staff at Stanford Place who filled her last years with friendship, entertainment and treated her with care and compassion in her last days.
Ursula’s funeral service will be held December 15, at 1:00 pm at Yates Funeral Home, 1000 Allsbrook Rd., Parksville, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army Food Bank.
