HEYDEN, Uwe (Jim)
1940 – 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Uwe (Jim) Heyden on February 12, 2007 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Christine and his children: Debbie Murray (Steve) of Woodstock, ON, Rick Heyden (Shelley) of Lakefield, ON, Susanne Green (Dave) of Pitt Meadows, BC and Michelle Macdonald (Bill) of Sherwood Park, AB. Also his grandchildren: Travis, Ratchel and Mikayla Murray, Nathalie and Benjamin Heyden, Lukas and Nicholas Green, and Maren and Gabriel Macdonald.
He is also survived by his brothers: Klaus Heyden of Burlington, ON, Jurgen Heyden of Buchholtz, Germany and Gerd Heyden of Hitzhusen, Germany.
He was born in Hamburg, Germany and immigrated to Canada at the age of 21. He left his mark across this country in the buildings and structures he built, in the friendships he made and on the many golf courses he played. He leaves us as the undisputed cribbage champion.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour at Yates Funeral Home (1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville, BC) on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Salvation Army.
