Vera Catherine "Cathy" Goard
Cathy passed away peacefully at Eagle Park Health Care Facility in Qualicum Beach on March 3, 2017. Cathy was born on November 27, 1933 in Chicago Illinois to Axel & Dorothy Wick. Cathy & her husband Bill moved to Vancouver Island in 1964. She immediately fell in love with the Area and said she would never leave.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents, younger sister Vivian, husband Bill Goard and her companion Ray Morris. She will be missed by her sister Lisa (Dick) Niehues of Portland Oregon, her nephew Matthew, niece Debbie, best friend of 53 years Maria Vanderbyl, step-daughter Cari (Greg) Stevenson & 3 step-grandchildren Dustin, Aleah & Kole.
Cathy was a librarian in Parksville for several years, she and her husband Bill were some of the original founders of Qualicum Foods in 1982. She was much loved by all who knew her in the community. Her smile was infectious and she had a very caring generous personality.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fletcher and the staff at Eagle Park for their care, kindness & support over the years.
