Vera Grace Sirett (Delgatty)

Died Peacefully June 28, 2013 at the Nanaimo Kiwanis Lodge where she happity resided for the past 10 years.

Vera was predeceased by her husband William F. Sirett in 2001 and daughter, Judith Lynn, in 1983.

Vera, along with her husband Will of 60 years, farmed near Neepawa, Manitoba, and retired to Vancouver Island in 1965.

Vera in her 100th year, was the last member of both her own and her husband’s siblings. She now passes the torch of family love, Christian faith, and a generous appreciation for life to the next generations.

Vera was a teacher by profession and a ready pianist all of her life for church and community socials. She loved life and made a friend in every crowd. She was a strong and joyful Christian believer who expressed that faith in many practical ways. Vera was greatly loved and respected by all members of the extended families of her children Carol, Dennis, Judy, Nancy and Jack. She was a special Grandma to nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The Sirett family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Forrester and the entire Kiwanis staff for their gentle and professional care of Vera.

A Service of Remembrance is planned for July 14, 2:00 pm at the Frith-Radcliffe Auditorium in the Kiwanis Villlage 957 Nelson Street, Nanaimo.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vera Sirett may be made to The Gideons International.
