NOWRY, Vera Lucy(nee Green)
After a brave struggle with cancer, Vera passed away peacefully on December 15, 2006 at Eagle Park Lodge, age 87.
Her growing up years in Port Alberni were followed by marriage in 1941 to Larry Nowry. They moved to Ontario where they spent thirty years and on returning to British Columbia the settled in Parksville.
For many years Vera was a loyal volunteer at the S.O.S. and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Arrowsmith Lodge.
Vera was predeceased by her husband Larry and her brother Jack; survived by her sister Dorothy Curran, stepson John Booth, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of remembrance will be held January 3, 2007 2:00pm at Craig Bay clubhouse in Parksville.
Vera left a legacy of character and courage and will be dearly missed.
