Vera Marie Dean

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Vera Dean, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Vera was born Aug. 27th, 1924 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, the youngest of 8 children. She moved to Ontario when she married George Dean on September 7th, 1946. After his passing in 1970 she eventually moved to BC to be closer to her family.
Vera was predeceased by her husband George, grandson Geordie, son-in-law Neil, her 4 brothers & 3 sisters. She is survived by her son George (Gwen), daughters Donna & Bev (Ron), grandchildren Angie (Gabe), Deana (Anders), Lindsay (Jason), Leanne (Philip) and 9 great grandchildren.
Vera enjoyed sports, particularly ice curling during most of her life. Then in later years she found floor curling and lawn bowling to be entertaining. She was always positive, cheerful and a joy to be around. She took great delight in her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
The family wishes to thank all the dedicated and caring staff at Stanford Place and The Gardens. Sincere thanks also to Dr. Sulz and Dr. Juralowicz. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at Yates Memorial Services, 1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville, BC.
