Vincent Charles Casey

July 22, 2012

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Vincent Casey, of Parksville BC on July 22, 2012. Vince was born in King Township, Ontario on July 7, 1929. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Brigid and his children, David (Wendy), Kelley Williams (Bill), John (Catharine), Laura, (mother Arlene) and Anna and Paul (Sophie) (mother Joan); grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew), Amanda (Matt), Bill, Reta, Zoe, Jack, Spencer, Kaila, Alexia, Max, and great grandson, Benton. He is also survived by his brothers Joseph and Denis, sister Joan Caplice (Michael), and sister-in law, Denise. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Vincent was predeceased by his parents Charles and Anna, wife Joan, daughter Lynda, brother Edward and sister Eileen Lynett. Vince loved sports, and spent countless hours at the arena, the soccer field and the baseball diamond, either as a coach, volunteer or a proud fan of his kids. Giving back to the community was also very important to Vince. He was very involved with the Richmond Arenas Community Association, C.O.P.S. and the Canadian Cancer Society. Although he moved to BC in 1979, Vince remained a true fan of all teams in Toronto, especially his beloved Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, which always put a smile on his face. Our family would like to extend a thank you to all the Community Health Workers and nurses, for the assistance and support over the past six months.

A Memorial Mass for Vince will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at The Church of the Ascension, 887 Wembley Road, Parksville, followed by a reception. On-line condolences may be expressed at www.yatesfuneral.ca
