It is with deep regret we have to announce her
passing on January 22, 2006 at Trillium Lodge
in Parksville, B.C.
Vi was born in D’Escouse, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on January 22, 1910. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Annie (MacDonald) Gruchy; her brother Harold and wife Preble; sister Helen and husband James Rodgers. She is survived by four nephews and their families; three cousins and their families as well as the children of other cousins and a number of her special friends that visited with her up to the end. A special thanks to Myra who always got in to see her when family and others could not. Also a big THANK YOU to all the staff of Trillium Lodge for all they have done this last seven years Vi has been there.
A service will be held at Knox United Church, 345 N. Pym Street Parksville on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
Her cremated remains will be buried in Vancouver with her Grandmother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Knox United Church Memorial Fund or to the Trillium Garden Fund or charity of choice in Vi’s memory.
