On March 3, 2010, Violet passed away following a lengthy illness, in the presence of her children, at Trillium Lodge.
Violet Jane Dodman born July 5, 1918 in Croydon, Surrey, England where she lived until the second world war when she joined hundreds of other British women as the war bride of a Canadian soldier overseas. Just before the end of the war, in 1945, she came to Canada in one of the bride ship convoys. Violet and Howard lived in Mississauga, Listowel and Stroud, Ontario until they moved to BC to be closer to their daughter.
Beloved wife of the late Howard Ferguson. Cherished mother of Michael Ferguson, Mississauga and Jane Clarkson (John) Parksville. Loving grandmother of David Anderson, Courtenay, Susan Matthews (Darryl), Calgary, Wendy Anderson, Courtenay, and Johnna-Jane Clarkson, Vancouver. Beloved Great Nanny of Chloe, Wade and Sydney.
