Virginia Lynne ARNOLD

Virginia passed away peacefully September 29, 2008 ?at Little Mountain Manor in Parksville.


She was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on January 24, 1938 -- the only daughter of Margaret and Walter Arnold.

She is survived by her brother David (Lucelle), nephews Gary and Chris, niece Jennifer and their families --- all of Winnipeg. And by many cousins and one aunt, Helen Draper of Toronto, ON.

Virginia’s early education was in several small towns in Saskatchewan.

She than attended Moose Jaw Teacher’s College and began her 37 year teaching career. Later, she completed her B Ed at the U of C. Her teaching career was wide ranging -- Sask, Alberta, NWT, Central America, Germany and Slovakia.

She travelled widely for a long period of time and developed friendships with many --- from different locations and different walks of life. The many friends from a range of times and places were very supportive during the long month’s of her illness.

Virginia valued friendship?and as these friendships?now move into the dimensions?of memory and of hope --- than, now and?always, a valued friend she will be.

In keeping with with Virginia’s wishes,?no service will be held at this time.

Memorial donations, if friends wish, could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family would like to thank the many friends who gave such devoted support. They added so much to Virginia’s life during this time.

They would also like to thank Dr. Waite, the Home Care Nurses, and the Staff of Little Mountain Manor for the very kind and thoughtful care given during this last illness.
