Walter Victor Cocoroch

1916 – 2009

FOREVER IN OUR THOUGHTS. Walter was born in the Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke, B.C. on January 16, 1916. He passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009.

Walter spent most of his life in Revelstoke where he worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway. He retired in 1976.

In 1986, he and his wife, Helen (nee Cretelli) moved to Nanaimo.

While in Revelstoke, he was an avid fisherman, was active in the Eagles Lodge, the Carmen’s Union, and also bowled and curled.

He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, in 1989.

Walter will be sadly missed by his many relatives, friends and acquaintances. He is survived by his daughter Juanita (Ron) Jack of Qualicum Beach; his son, Walter (Kathy) Cocoroch of Abbotsford; two granddaughters, Lorelei (Todd) Komick of Duncan, and Rhona (Tom) Russell of Port Alberni, two great-granddaughters, Tanya (Tony) Booth and Kristin Russell, and his great-great granddaughter, Olivia Booth, all of Port Alberni. He is also survived by his sister, Corrine (Brit) Bradstock of Victoria, brothers Vince Roach of Edmonton, and Graham “Boots” of Revelstoke and sister Donna Nicholson of Richmond.

A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at a date and time to be decided in the near future.
