June 18, 1938 - January 27, 2019
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Roderick Foot of Bowser BC on January 27, 2019

Wayne, also known as Wayne-O and Gumper was born in Ocean Falls BC on June 18, 1938 and raised in Vancouver BC. Predeceased by his parents, Rod and Marie Foot (Vancouver BC) and nephew Chris Foot.

Survived by his wife and honey bunny Evelyn Foot. Children: Kelly, James and Scott Wray (Donna- Jeanne), Brigitte and Samantha Foot. Grand children: Anthony, Tatum, Aungelica, David, Jenna, Michael, Jordan, Taylor, Haley and Curtis and Great Grand Child, Jude. Also survived by his brother Bill Foot (Barbara), nephew, Kelly Foot (Debbie) as well as many Ironworker Brothers and Sisters.

As an active member of Local 97, until long past retirement, Wayne was very proud of his many accomplishments with the union and his two sons, Jamie and Scotty who continue in the trade. Starting as a young rod buster and finishing as the Superintendent of the Nile Creek Bridge on Highway 19 of Vancouver Island. Wayne enjoyed his work with the apprenticeship program out of BCIT, sharing and teaching the trade with many young men and women, always encouraging membership to Local 97. Most recently improving the Ironworkers Pension Plan and helping the most vulnerable obtain support with mobility issues. Wayne volunteered countless hours working in the union office, eventually becoming Business Manager and President of Local 97 and representing the local at the International Level as well as the BC Building Trades.

During his retirement his passions included; restoring old boats, fishing, baking, cooking, canning, smoking fish, gardening and most of all his best friend, Puppy the Cat. He always had a strong love for all animals and critters and their well-being.

Wayne's family thanks the nurses, staff and doctors of the North Island Comox Valley Hospital, Dr. Bakshi, Deep Bay First Responders as well as good friends, Al and Bob.

A celebration of Wayne's life will happen at a later date.

No flowers by request. Should friends desire, donations in Wayne's memory to any SPCA are appreciated.
