Our dear sister Wendy passed away on May 25, 2011 at Stanford Place Care Campus in Parksville, B.C., after a 14 month battle with cancer. She was predeceased by our father John McHaffie in 2007 and our niece Sadie Hardman in 2008. She was the oldest of four daughters and is survived by our mother Elizabeth McHaffie, sisters Jenny, Susan (Doug), Julie (Steve), niece Lily and nephew Mac. Wendy was a quiet gentle soul who loved gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, crafts and decorating. She was often alone but rarely lonely. Peace be with you our dear sister. We would love to thank all the wonderful nurses, care aides and staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Stanford Place Care Campus in Parksville, B.C.
A celebration of Wendy’s life will be held Sunday July 10th, 2011 from 2 - 5 pm at the Holiday Inn Hotel, 700 Old Lilloet Rd. in North Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Cancer Society would be appreciated.
