May 23, 1933 – November 29, 2012

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wilfred (Wilf as he liked to be called) on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Wilf passed away at home with is family and best friends (Chico, Skeeter, and Teddy Bear). Wilf joins his parents, Charles and Marie and brother Eugene. Survived by his beloved wife Valerie of 33 years and his children, Cyndi (Dave), Lydia (Dave) Brian (Cathie), Tracey (Joel), Christine (Martin), 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, sister Delores (Wes) many nieces, nephews, and many very special friends.

Wilf was born in Soverign, Saskatchewan. He lived for many years in Saskatoon Saskatchewan where he worked and raised a family. In 1988, Wilf and Val moved to Blue River BC, where they owned and operated the Blue River Motel. They moved to Qualicum Beach to retire and enjoy his life long dream. Wilf was a caring private, and compassionate man who was always there for all. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward the purchase of a bench in his honour to be placed in the Parksville Community Park for all to enjoy. An account has been setup at the TD Bank ( #679-6222050) in Parksville to accept donations for the bench. Any excess monies received will be donated to the Lions Playground in the Parksville Community Park.

A Service honouring Wilf’s life will be held at the Church of Ascension on Wednesday December 5th, 2012 at 2:30 pm. Condolences and any memories can be shared with the family by visiting www.yatesfuneral.ca
