KURTZ, William (Bill) Dudley
born on January 27, 1912 in Nelson, BC, passed away June 12, 2003 in Nanaimo, BC.
Survived by wife Gerry Adair, sons Bob (Joy), Brian (Marilee) and Rick; step daughters Pamela Hoffman, Bev Loss and Brenda Adair; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Bill started his working life for the City of Nelson, then moved to Port Alberni and worked for
McMillan Bloedel for 35 years until early retirement when he did some world travelling. Bill was a Parksville Alderman 1972—1975 and Mayor of Parksville 1976—1981. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club and a member of the Schooner Cove Yacht Club.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at 1:00 pm at the Parksville Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, BC. A reception will follow in the Arbutus Tea Lounge, Parksville Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank the nurses at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and the Home Care Staff at the Trillium Lodge for their compassionate care.
