January 6, 1951 to July 22, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Bill Pitt. Born and raised in Parksville, BC, Bill started his close to 50-year driving career as a teenager on Vancouver Island. Although the open road took him everywhere through BC and Alberta, he was an island boy at heart with a love for logging. Bill had a reputation behind the wheel unparalleled to most. He could take on any road and any load. Some of his daughters’ fondest memories are of ‘sick days’ spent in the truck working with Dad. When he wasn’t in his truck, or washing his truck, or xing his truck, Bill loved to be fishing, at the cabin, or marching through the woods with his daughters, nephews and nieces (The Junior Woodchucks) in tow. He had a soft spot for animals, usually seen with a farm-full of adopted pets trailing behind. Bill Pitt was a big kid with a huge heart. He will be deeply missed by his three daughters, Rheana, Kirbi and Meghan, sister Robin, partner Barbara, step-children Lesley, Tyler and Shannon, 6 grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and many dear friends including Carol and Sabine. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 27th from 2 – 5pm at the Horne Lake Campground, Group Campsite #1. We love you Dad. HUG A LOGGER!
