Bill passed away at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital due to an aggressive cancer.

He is survived by sisters in-law Kay Moscrip and Joyce Zapisocki, brothers in-law Andrew (Irene) Zapisocki, Eugene (Grace) Zapisocki, Walter (Ollie) Zapisocki and 19 nieces and nephews.

Bill was born in Drumheller, Alberta. During his young adult life, he worked in many vocations, which included farming, CN Rail and Canada Safeway. Finally he saw the “light” and trained to be an electrician. On June 6, 1959 he married Helen Zapisocki and resided in Edmonton. Bill and Helen moved to Parksville, BC in 1969 where he was self employed for many years as an electrical contractor. Bill also worked as a guard at the RCMP Detachment for 20 years.

In retirement, Bill and Helen spent winters in Yuma, Arizona where Bill took up wood carving. He took great pride in his diamond willow walking sticks and won many 1st place ribbons in competitions. They sold their home in Parksville and lived full time in their new 5th wheel for several years making their summer residence in an RV park near Cassidy. In 2005 they returned to Parksville and settled into a new home. Bill was an avid gardener and generously shared the produce with friends and neighbours. Bill enjoyed happy hours with friends and relatives and often entertained us with his stories and jokes.
