BUNNING, William – Willy (cat), Esquire
Passed away October 15, 2002 ~ Aged 15-1/2 years
Much loved family pet, friend and companion
of Alison Bunning, Nanoose; Claire, Adrien and Amy Roberts, Parksville; and Natalie and Bethany Edwards, Stourton, England. Willy’s residences included Madrona Drive; where he liked to chase otters and play on the beach. Panorama Place; where he fought the black and white cat next door. And for the past ten years Marina Way, Nanoose: where he chased birds, rabbits, other cats and mainly dogs, visited the neighbours, walked to the mail box, and to the beach. He enjoyed camping, especially up North on the Island where he had a close encounter of a “Whale kind”; hiding under the hoods of trucks and taking scary rides, he even was catnapped once and was missing for a week, thankfully finally found at the SPCA in Nanaimo; he even got his picture and story in the papers that time!
Thanks go to Daphne and Karen, formerly of Errington Pet Lodge, and now the present owners for the special care and attention he always received on his stays.
Thanks to Dr. Louise Janes of Mid-Island Veterinary for her tender handling of his last moments.
A little cat with the heart of a big man
He will be sadly missed.
