STOCKER, William Edward (Ted)

Born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan March 22, 1928, passed away suddenly October 6, 2004 in Nanaimo, B.C.

Predeceased by his sister Muriel Andrews, survived by his longtime companion Louise, daughter Linda (Wayne) and son Glen. Affectionately known as "Papa Ted" to grandchildren: Jeff, Chris (Sarah), Allison (Bruce), and Lindsay and special friend Kay, one brother Grant (Donna), numerous nieces and nephews. Raised in Port Alberni, Ted was an electrician at Harmac in Nanaimo for 10 years. He owned and operated Anchorage Marina and ran the Newcastle Island ferry. He then moved on to a successful career in real estate where he was part owner in Block Brothers, Nanaimo branch, retiring to California and Arizona. Ted never lost his love for the Island, returning frequently to fish, boat and enjoy the coast. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and his many friends throughout Canada and Arizona who were a big part of Ted's life. Donations in memory of Ted may be made to the VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation, 855 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1M9 for the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplatation Programs as well as NRGH care of the Cancer Clinic.
