OBERACHER,William Eric (Willie)
1931-2006
Survived by a loving family: wife Cecile, three sons: Douglas, Cochrane AB; David (Sharlene), Medicine Hat, AB; Jeff (Adina), Qualicum Beach, BC; three grandchildren: Amanda, Mark, Blake.
Willie lived a full and productive life arriving in Calgary from Munich in 1953, raising a family and establishing a career in the construction industry. Eventually “retiring” to Qualicum Beach, BC he began his second career working and volunteering in the area and building new friendships.
Willie was supported by friends and family throughout his illness. Willie will be remembered for his strong work ethic for both his toughness and kindness but most definitively for his own unique style of wit and humour. The family would like to thank the staff of Nanaimo Hospital, and co-workers at Craig Bay for their kind support throughout his illness.
