HUCUL, William Nicholas (Bill)

July 17, 1927 ~ May 26, 2008

Bill passed away after a valiant fight with cancer, on May 26, 2008 at the Burnaby Palliative Care Unit, Burnaby General Hospital.

Dad was born in Port Alberni and moved to Parksville in1969. While a young lad, Dad worked at Maclean's farm and mill, followed by work at Tom's Bros., Rainer & Brock, and eventually working for MacMillan Bloedel at Cameron & Franklin Divisions until he retired in 1993.

Dad was a loving, devoted father, grandfather and friend. His handy work, and love of gardening and fishing will remain as fond memories to all those who had the privilege to know him. He was a shining light in all our lives. Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife Joy (Ladysmith); daughter Donna (Peter), son Dan (Lynn); grandchildren Naomi (Stefan), Kimberly (Ken), Keith (Rochelle), Andrew (Dani) and Erin; great grandchildren Mada-Lynn, Keenan, and Luke; and his innumerable friends.

We would like to thank Dr. Dubland and the nurses at Burnaby Palliative Care Unit, and Janie Greenwood and Dr. Alexiadis from Fraser Health Home Care, for their kindness and caring ways.

Out of respect for Bill's wishes there will be no memorial service.

Donations to the B.C. Cancer Foundation in memory of Dad would be appreciated.
