KERR, Winifred (Win) Charlotte

Born April 22, 1922 in Calgary, passed away peacefully in the presence of her children and grandchildren at Royal Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, October 23,2005


Predeceased by her husband George in 1989, and her brothers Art and Doug Chesney, Win will be lovingly remembered and missed by her

children: John Kerr (Oreal) of Calgary, Lorraine Ward (Thomas) of Victoria, Joyce Hoelscher (Keith) of Qualicum Beach, Douglas Kerr

(Wendy) of Banff, Robert Kerr (Cindy) of Victoria, and her grandchildren: Johnny Kerr (Mimi), Robert Kerr (Krista), Jane Kerr (Jason),

Tracey Moulton (Dave), Darren Ward, Marc Hoelscher (Zabin), Karrie Hoelscher (Brian), Brianna Kerr, Brenden Kerr, Greggory Reinson,

Mitchell Kerr, Jasmine Kerr, and her great grandchildren: Jesse Andersen, Lucas Hoelscher, Benjamin and Emily Moulton and Caren Kerr.

She will also be missed by many more relatives and friends.

Win grew up in Calgary where her father owned and operated Chesney Hardware. After attending one year of university, she met and

married George Alexander Kerr and moved to Edmonton. In 1962 they moved back to Calgary and Win and George established and ran

Kerr Pharmacy. She returned to university part time until receiving her teaching certificate and after moving to Lac des Arcs, near

Canmore, taught part time and drove a 60 passenger school bus full time all around the Banff area. Win then lived in Banff for a time and

eventually retired to Qualicum Beach in 1984. She moved to Victoria in 2003 and during the next two years enjoyed living at Somerset

House where she could be close to the ocean and lots of family.

The family wish to thank all the staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital ECU2 for their wonderful care of Winifred during her short stay there.

We would also like to thank the staff of Royal Jubilee Hospital 3 West for all the compassionate care and concern she was shown in the

past week.


Service of remembrance will be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 2:00 pm
