Adult bike lessons

I too spotted the obvious when reading about the Bike to Work Challenge in a recent edition of The NEWS.

I too spotted the obvious when reading about the Bike to Work Challenge in a recent edition of The NEWS.

I could not believe that so many in the photo were not wearing helmets — you could not have shown the blatant disregard for safety any better than you did by showing that picture, especially that guy in the front who not only wasn’t wearing a helmet, he was texting.

My husband and I spotted it as soon as we saw the picture and were going to write in to you, but just thought “why bother because the police don’t.”

As a kid in England, anyone who got a bike had to have road safety awareness lessons and practice through the school, then pass a test before being allowed out on the road. Maybe some grown-ups should have that here.
