Attract the RVs

The issue of RVs parking at the beach in Qualicum reveals the dangers and potential cost of the mean-spirited council.

The issue of RVs parking at the beach in Qualicum reveals the dangers and potential cost of the mean-spirited attitude being shown by the current council.

It will drive people away. We seem to be headed down the road of saying ‘no’ to everything instead of ‘yes’ to that which we want and can accommodate.

We want tourists, embrace them. Give them a reason to come and stay. Qualicum is a jewel, so let’s put on our best face.

Find a positive, creative solution. People like to hear ‘yes’. People like small gifts. Have town staff be an ambassador for the city and give the RV visitor a dated, free, one night pass along with a flyer listing all local RV parks and their discount promotions. Include promotions for local businesses. Get the chamber of commerce involved. There are great opportunities here.
