This letter is regarding Neil Horner’s article (The News, June 24).
Oh dear ... so there’s going to be a stipend hike for the mayor whilst reducing that of the deputy mayor position.
Being new in the area I have already read and heard enough to have formed an opinion that the mayor of this lovely town is a bit of a despot.
I agree with Peter Doukakis that there should be additional councillors in Qualicum Beach, if only to ensure that there is a chance for fair, balanced and democratic discussion and decision-making within council.
