Bowser beaches

The industrialization of the tourist beaches of Bowser is a crime against the prosperity of our local Bowser community.

The industrialization of the tourist beaches of Bowser is a crime against the prosperity of our local Bowser community.

We serve the tourist market at Deep Bay and in Bowser. Now that the provincial government has issued licenses to allow ‘tanks’ to drive on our tourist beaches, it is disrupting the food chain as well as leaving marks in the sand over five kilometers long as a road to their removal of huge amounts of beach-cast seaweed.

This seaweed needs to be left in place as it buffers big waves at high tide events and softens the erosion taking place.

What is up with the Regional District of Nanaimo, which allows this in our pristine area? Stop the removal of seaweed now.
