Business should support the MAC

As I have been active with the MAC in the recent past, it hurts to see such a vital entity in our community hurting like this.

I have been following the stories referring to the MAC. As I have been active with the MAC in the recent past, it hurts to see such a vital entity in our community hurting like this.

It is really surprising to me to see the lack of support from the business community.  The MAC and any other community arts society in B.C. are a backbone of our need for human togetherness.

I find it hard to understand how our businesses and/or our Parksville chamber can not see that a living and active art centre like the MAC contributes greatly to their collective bottom lines.

There are so many things that could be done such as donating funds to keep it afloat or helping with the physical building. It would be great to have a group of local businesses get together and rebuild the once beautiful entrance steps at the front of the building off Morrison Street.

The list of needs for the MAC and the opportunities for our local businesses and service organizations is somewhat endless.

We must not let our very large central art community down at this time.
