Do conservatives control the CBC?

It was interesting that when Joe Oliver stood up in the House of Commons to deliver his budget on April 21 he flubbed his key line.

Is the CBC under the Conservative’s control?

It was interesting to observe that when Joe Oliver stood up in the House of Commons to deliver his budget on April 21 he flubbed his key line when he proclaimed: “The budget is balanced!” When this clip was aired on The National with Peter Mansbridge later that evening, the “flub” was edited out.

Contrast this to when Stephan Dion flubbed a line (in his second language no less) during an interview a few years ago and requested a re-take. The re-take was not granted and that flub was aired repeatedly portraying Dion as a buffoon much to the glee of the other political parties and the smug no doubt.

The questions that beg an answer are: is the CBC under the thumb of the Conservatives/Stephen Harper? Is the CBC bending backwards to accommodate the Conservatives in fear of more cuts? Is Mansbridge a staunch Conservative?
