There was recently a large ad, asking “Would you rather pay 10% HST or 12% GST/PST?”
I would like to point out that A) the 10 per cent would be applied to quite a few items that would be taxed at only the PST rate under the GST/PST system; and B) the reduction of the HST to 10 per cent is being promised to us by the same people who promised us that there would be no HST in the first place.
Think about it.
