LETTER: A thank you for the man who helped change a tire

I pulled up at my mailbox near the Rocking Horse pub turn off on Northwest Bay Road and I had a blowout with a tire.

I’m severely handicapped. I can’t lay down, can’t kneel or anything like that. Finally, I struggled and I got the spare wheel out, and I couldn’t get the jack to work.

I struggled for over an hour. Cars were just tearing by, and only one guy just stopped to see if I needed help. It took him an hour to get the jack sorted out.

After an hour’s struggle, he finally got the wheel changed for, packed the other one back in the car and escorted me home.

I’d like to thank this guy as I didn’t get his name. He refused remuneration.

Before he left, he checked the wheel again to make sure that the torque was right.

He was the only one to stop to see if I needed help.
