LETTER: Cost of restoring Vancouver Island rail service too much to justify

‘Make sure our road infrastructure is up to date with current and future weather events’

Re: ‘Government must be pressed to finally repair railway on Vancouver Island’ (Letters, PQB News, Nov. 24)

It was just a matter of time before someone tried to justify restoring the railway again.

I can only imagine the additional damage that has been done to the rail beds during this recent torrential rain.

It would be wonderful to have an alternate way to travel but still would not justify the enormous costs associated with repairing and operating it.

A more realistic approach would be to make sure our road infrastructure is up to date with current and future weather events.
