Thank you Murray Chantler for putting into writing what many of us are thinking (An ode to town’s vanishing trees, Letters, Feb. 6).
When did it become acceptable to take down as many trees as possible just to get a bigger view of the ocean and, in one case I know of, just to prove a point? What about air quality? Bird habitat? A quiet place to sit without being overlooked? What about being a responsible steward for your part of town or a good neighbour?
It seems that today the operative words are “me” and “I” rather than “we.” Sad.
