Is anyone thinking about water ?
Parksville seems to be in an aggressive expansion mode, with new subdivisions and apartment blocks. And now there is a proposal for 700 new residential units in Lantzville.
PQB is a great place to live — but is there enough water to support all this development?
Already, summer limits are placed on water usage as soon as gardens need it.
It seems that the region has a water management problem which requires a regional solution. Too much reliance on the Englishman River, when there is so much renewable capacity in the inland lakes (Cameron, Horne, Sproat and Great Central).
