In your last edition, a reader wrote: “Most people have been wearing masks for months now and the positivity rate is going up. It proves that masks do not work.”
That shows the ignorance people making such comments have about how the virus spreads and why the rates keep going up.
It takes all people wearing masks every time there is the possibility of one either passing on the virus or receiving it. And it only takes one person to start the spread to thousands of others.

The positivity rate continuing to go up proves that not enough people are wearing masks at times when they should be doing so. The ignorant and selfish attitudes of a small minority are harming the majority.
I have no idea what fantasy world the “COVID-19 is a hoax” believers are living in. They believe that over 95 per cent of reporters, medical personnel, scientists, recovered patients, family members who lost loved ones, and even politicians from different countries around the world, all got together and agreed to spread such a hoax.
Since there seems to be no cure for such stupidity, perhaps all these people should be provided with a free one-way ticket to a dictatorial country of their choice. Once there, they might learn what freedom of choice and civil liberties for the majority really means.
