Re: supportive housing project at 222 Corfield St. South, Parksville:

Some interesting facts should be considered.

From the BC Housing summary report from the March 20, 2018 open house for the proposed supportive housing project at 222 Corfield St. South: 99 comments expressed opposition and 55 comments expressed support.

From the PQB News Question of the Week poll of May 14, 2018, “Would you be in favour of a referendum for Parksville’s Supportive Housing project?”: Yes, 79 per cent; and no, 21 per cent.

From the petition of opposition to the supportive housing project in Parksville submitted to the City of Parksville prior to the public hearing on June 19, 2018: 1,380 individuals signed in opposition to this project, plus 355 separate letters of opposition to this project.

Thank goodness we live in a democratic society.
