LETTER: Thank you to helpers after hit and run

To the two guys who saw the accident last Thursday by the Parksville recycler and pulled over and helped my 76-year-old friend out of the ditch and helped him right his three-wheel bike and cart, a huge thank you. Thank you to Manna for trying to get him a new bike or to try and repair the front end that has been wrecked on his bike.

To the creep that clearly fully came into the bike lane and side swiped him causing him to have to jump off his three-wheel bike into the ditch to keep from being hit and killed, shame on you. That is classed the same as hit and run. You run him and his cart off the road and didn’t pull over to see if he was OK. He was badly shook up and his bike is a write off.

That bike and cart are his only proper means of transportation and supplementing his income. My friend has a heart of gold and goes over and above for everyone he knows. What you did is a disgrace and despicable. Shame on you big time, you know what you did. Turn in your licence because obviously you don’t abide by the proper rules of the road. You could have seriously injured or killed an innocent person.
