Re: Pleasing parks, Editorial, Aug, 7

Maybe its time to revisit and rethink this fascination we have about city parks. For example, since 2010, I’ve been walking my pooch through the 10-acre Springwood park/playing fields.

Roughly eight months out of every year only myself and the local graffiti artists use the grounds.

At last count, over a million dollars has been poured into this area to produce the greenest grass this side of Ireland.

The little ‘block’ park beside the high school, established by the kids, is used soley as a smoking pit.

There are enough parks, just not enough people to use them.
