Lock your car

Do you think people will get the message now? On the Island, we would all like to think we live in sleepy little communities. Wake up people. If you park your car in the open in our mall parking lots, in your driveways or on the street, and leave it unlocked, you are giving everyone who comes along free access.

Recently, I parked in a local parking and noticed a purse on the front seat of an unlocked car. I took down the make and colour of the vehicle as well as the license number and reported the information to the service counter in a nearby store. The response to my concern was: “people in these parts do that all the time.”

No notification was announced by the store staff while I was shopping. Lock out auto crime. Lock your cars and do not leave valuables in sight. You get what you deserve.
