Look at the salaries

The problems with ferry prices have little to do with the price of gas

Where was Mr. Cantelon a few years ago when ferry prices increased because fuel was up to $1.49/litre?

He says, “the 12 per cent spike in costs over the next three years was inevitable because of ever-rising fuel costs,” in last Friday’s edition of The News.

This is a laughable excuse.  Prices already increased years ago when gas costs increased. Did the ferries decrease their fees when fuel costs decreased?  No. They increased.

I suggest rising management salaries is more likely the reason.
