Mellow majority

Christy Clark should get on board with decriminalization momentum

Premier Clark, the born-again radical Liberal populist, blew it. No B.C. premier has shown such acute withdrawal symptoms from a longstanding issue. “I’m going to leave this (the marijuana legalization issue) to the federal government,” she declared.

With all the political smoke coming out of Victoria, you would think she would welcome the opportunity to identify herself with the mellow majority who are in favour of legalizing cannabis. Perhaps Clark has decided to be less off-the-cuff-spontaneous after getting her fingers burnt by promoting that riotously naive idea about putting cameras in the courtrooms.
