As a citizen of Qualicum Beach, Wendy Maurer says she expects Mayor Teunis Westerbroek not to say things like “we don’t want to be Parksville,” or “I hope we are never like Parksville,” to not have his picture in the paper so often, to be more receptive to the businesses (I’m guessing chain stores) that want to move into our town, and that 15 years has been enough time to make his mark.
As a fairly new citizen of Qualicum Beach I say this: whatever he’s been doing for the last 15 years, I hope he keeps on doing it for another 15. I’m glad his picture is in the paper lots — that way I will recognize when I see him. I’d like to shake his hand and say “Good job Teunis, I don’t want to be like Parksville either.”
I guess I’m hoping for more of the same from our mayor.
