It was great to see that retiring MLA Ron Cantelon hasn’t lost his sense of humour.
In a story in the March 19 edition of The NEWS, he said: “This job absorbs you. When you are in session you are here five days a week. It takes up so much of your life, but now I will get my life back.”
Wow. Can you even begin to imagine having to work five days a week at what is, at best, a part-time job? How many weeks a year is the house in session?
I hope that he gives thanks every day that he never had to work 50 to 60 hours a week like any private-sector executive making the salary that he makes.
